Review: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/Ghostbusters #1
I grew up in the 80's and I was a huge fan of everything that you would expect:
Transformers, G.I. Joe, Silverhawks and M.A.S.K. but nothing... NOTHING stuck with me like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Ghostbusters. This idea was a match made in heaven and I don't know what took IDW so long to get it going but I just had the opportunity to read the first issue.
This issue starts out setting up a new villain named Chi-You who has made some kind of a deal with an older TMNT character named Kitsune and the dimension hopping begins.
The book is fun and the characters have been captured perfectly. Erik Burnham and Tom Waltz have really outdone themselves with capturing the voice of each person involved.
Dan Schoening is the superstar here. The art is absolutely breathtaking. The color and pencil work is superb. I'm reading quite a few exciting books right now but this one just went straight to the top of my list.
