Review: Batman 41

Well, after all the debate and all the nay-saying, Batman #41 is here. But, is it good?
The short answer is, yes.
The issue introduces the origins of James Gordon as the new Dark Knight. The story kicks off by giving us an action scene with Gordon as Batman being head up by none other than the G.C.P.D. whom are going up against an energy super-villain right out of the gate.
Snyder and Capullo, have been delivering in almost every way since DC Comics: The New 52 began and they don't disappoint here. They are crafting a very different, very original Batman story, that doesn't have Bruce Wayne or anyone in the immediate Robin Family under the cowl. No spoilers, but there is still a cowl.
Hard to tell in the first issue where this whole thing is going, but, in my opinion, it delivers. I can't wait to see how Jim Gordon handles going head to head with Gotham's villains. Sometimes you have to change the status quo and sometimes you have to throw it out the window and tell a completely original story in a 75 year old universe.
