I gotta say, that when first opening up this book, I wasn't expecting much. Patrick Gleason isn't a writer/artist I know very well. This story follows the exploits of the DC Comics: The New 52's Detective Comics which I unfortunately never got a chance to read. Never the less, I'm a fan of Damian Wayne. This book has it all for the Bat-Brat fan. Snarky remarks, arrogance and that dash of heroism that has been instilled in him by his father. This book takes a walk on the fantastic side where Damian is in Bialya collecting the beast Goliath from Abashi and opts to smash all his teeth out like a little badass for calling Goliath a "man-bat " This story is hardly self contained, as it will take further issues to figure out what exactly is happening here. The art is top notch and Damian looks perfect against the often trippy color scheme of this very ambitious book. I'm excited to see what comes of this and if Gleason has a way to get some character development out of a character many DC fans have written off. Writing: 7 Art: 8.5 Cover: 8 Overall: 8 #cbinews #cbireviews #brianlloyd #robin #goliath#stanleysmonster #dccomics
