Story: Greg Pak Pencils: Ardian Syaf Okay, let's be honest here. I wanted to hate this so much. Batman has rabbit ears and is a corporate stooge and Superman ain't very super anymore. Clark Kent is dead, let's face it, I see no way to bring him back unless DC Comics pulls a Spider-Man out of their hat and Necron makes everyone forget, à la One More Day (The Amazing Spider-Man #544). Please write a better story then that please! I'm begging you!! With that out of the way I gotta tell you the book was pretty darn good. Crisp art, thank you, Mr. Syaf, and I was greatly impressed with Mr. Pak's very well written story. Having a severely depowered Superman offers some intriguing storyline opportunities and Pak used several: From the policemen watching him and offering no help whatsoever, to Lex Luthor actually offering help and Sups begrudgingly accepting was worth the cover price alone. The fight we all wanted will have to wait till next month though. It almost started and it seems we will see a true shake down of Bat-Gordon's capabilities against the Man of Steel. There were more than enough very geeky moments for fans. Superman got stabbed in the leg. Yes, you heard me right, he got stabbed in the leg. He had to wrap his hands in fragments of his cape because his knuckles were bleeding and in pain from the fight. I know, but it was actually really cool and Superman was loving this sense of humanity. Superman also tried to figure out what happened to Bruce, but no luck. We know he'll be back so I will reserve judgment till then. Rating Story: 8 chimichangas Art: 8 chimichangas Geeky moments: 9 chimichangas Action: 7 chimichangas Total score: 33 out 40 chimichangas. Way better than I expected. In other words, BUY THIS BOOK! #cbinews #cbireview #batmansuperman #RaymondJGrandville #dccomics
